An important aspect of a marriage ceremony is the
officiant – someone who can create the atmosphere of love and joy each couple envisions for their unique moment. Cantor Zoe has officiated at countless marriage and commitment ceremonies. Through meeting with the couple-to-be, she is able to craft the ceremony they desire, while keeping within the traditions they are heir to. Zoe is an expert in Jewish wedding ceremonies, and specializes in interfaith weddings, according each couple and each tradition respect and understanding. She has happily and harmoniously co-officiated for couples who wish to have representitives of both their faiths present in an interfaith marriage. She has worked with Fr. Rich Hasselbach , Fr. Motta and Fr. Restituto A. Lumanlan SVD.
For over ten years, Cantor Zoe has led Shabbat and holiday services (both co-leading with congregational rabbis and solo) and has officiated at b'nai mitzvot ceremonies in synagogues as well as in more unique venues, selected by families. Her congregational experience includes:
Kehillat Lev Shalem, The Woodstock Jewish Congregation, Woodstock, NY
Ahavat Israel, Kingston, NY
P'nai Or, New York, NY
In addition, Cantor Zoe has developed fresh and creative Shabbaton programming. Working with congregational spiritual and lay leaders, Cantor Zoe offers the inspiration and enthusiasm that enables participants to connect to the joyful experience of Shabbat. She leads services both erev Shabbat and Shabbat morning. When Shabbat ends, Zoe leads a beautiful Havdalah ceremony followed by a concert of her original music. Zoe sings in both Hebrew and English where she sets
ancient texts from Torah and the siddur into soulful modern settings.
